You say "Shiraz", I say "Syrah"
It's all the same grape non-the-less. Shiraz wines display firm tannins (although they are typically ripe and smooth, not abrasive like younger reds), a fuller body, and the rich, round flavours of black cherry, blackberry, plum, bell pepper, black pepper, clove, liquorice, dark chocolate and smoked meat.

subdued primary fruit characterisitcs lean towards the crisp fruitiness of apples, pears and lemon, bu the variety's full body is capable of supporting a host of complimentary characteristics such as oak, butter and vanilla. Wooded wines go well with creamy, buttery dishes.
